The Consortium, which began in 1999, currently has 26 member institutions that serve more than 157,000 students. Service-Learning is proving to be a groundbreaking pedagogy in higher education, bringing together campuses and communitities in unprecedented ways in the pursuit of common goals. The Midwest Consortium is recruiting AmeriCorps*VISTA candidates to serve at member institutions. VISTAs (Volunteers In Service To America) play a vital role in expanding service-learning initiatives at colleges and universities throughout the nation.
